Hi Steven great blog you have here. I am trying to track down more posters from my grandfather, Saverio Pavone, who made the original Lawrence of Arabia one with Peter O'Toole's face obscured. He died in 1962 and we have no records. Can you help? He was based in New York City and worked at an agency called Stirling. Thanks Jon
Hello Jon, Lawrence of Arabia is the only poster I can find from Saverio Pavone, he must have created more but there doesn't seem to be any info on the net. Your grandfather's poster is very famous, sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck with your research and thanks for commenting.
Your grandfather and mine were friends in Greenwich village in the 1930's. They may have worked together doing artwork for advertising companies. I have a small pencil sketch portriat he did of my grandpa. I'd love to see more of his work.
